OHKCC Courses


Course Structure:

Students are placed in Junior or Senior Classes according to their age and skills, in order to surround them with the most compatible with their peers.
All classes are conducted by qualified and experienced vocal coaches who have also received professional training in voice and/or choral conducting.
The repertoire of both junior level and senior level courses focus on operatic works from different musical eras, at the same time, we offer works from different musical genres such as folk songs, art songs, jazz and pop, as well as musical to fit students of all levels and interests.

JUNIOR Classes
OHKCC Junior Classes aim at fostering children’s interest in opera, vocal pieces and singing, as well as assisting children to develop their musicianship in an immersive environment from a young age.
Members are entitled to ample stage exposure and participation in various operatic productions, choral performances, and theatre productions. These opportunities allow children to broaden their horizons, expose to a professional operatic environment and theatric atmosphere, and strengthen their confidence in performing on stage and in front of audiences.

SENIOR Classes
Senior Classes are offered to students who are approved by Opera Hong Kong vocal coaches via the Junior Level Assessment ; or possess an equivalent level of vocal skills demonstrated in audition.
Senior Classes focus on nurturing students’ artistic expression and musicianships.  A sophisticated level of vocal training and  performance opportunities is provided in a professional opera and musical productions, should the students be qualified.

Young Performers Certificate Programme
(Audition required)

Members will be trained in group with different performance techniques including music, drama etc. Upon the completion training and through the assessment under the Trinity College London, member will receive an individual certificate of the corresponding level from the college.

Audition Procedure:
Applicants are required to prepare a short excerpt under 2 minutes from a song for audition purpose. Please bring along 2 copies of the music scores. A piano accompanist will be provided.

Teaching Medium:
Classes will be conducted in English, supplemented with Cantonese. Students will learn different European languages of original lyrics.
