Opera Hong Kong Children Chorus is divided into Junior and Senior Classes according to the age and abilities of its members, who are aged from 5 to 18.
All classes are conducted by experienced vocal coaches well qualified with formal and professional training in voice and/or choral conducting.
The chorus’s vast repertoire embraces an extensive array of musical genres and works of different periods, including folk songs, art songs, jazz, pop, as well as arias and songs from operas and musicals.
Verdi, Mozart, Donizetti, Bizet, Offenbach and Bellini
Junior Classes of Opera Hong Kong Children Chorus aim at fostering children’s interest in music and singing, as well as helping children develop a sense of musicianship and musicality through a conducive music learning environment.
Members are entitled to ample stage exposure through participating in performances of various scales including large-scale opera productions, which are horizon-broadening experiences and help boost their confidence.
Wagner, Puccini, Rossini, Massenet, Beethoven and Strauss
Members of Senior Classes have passed a Junior Level Assessment with the approval of vocal coaches of Opera Hong Kong; or possess equivalent skills demonstrated by audition.
The Senior Classes aim at developing members’ artistic talent and potential in voice through a unique music education experience comprising more sophisticated training and performance opportunities in larger-scale opera and musical productions.
